is needed in order to change the future. on every level (generations, interindustrial) and in every direction (your neighbor but as well every continent).

education. technology. design. finance. architecture. food. you name it.

back then..

...everyone thought others could speak their language. now, in a globalized world people think noone speaks their language but their fellow men. its actually the other way around. its now more than ever people can expect others to speak their languages. so, speak up. have a proper conversation. exchange ideas. its easier than ever.

timing is a lot but not eveything

a lot in life is about timing. meeting people at the right time. being the 1000th customer. saving that document before the black out.

but its as well about meeting the right people at the right time. being the 1000th customer with a valid ID at hand. or saving that important document before the black out.

a lot in life is about timing. but not everything.

no reaction to comments and comments themselves

comments to articles sometimes start their own dynamics. at some point it might happen that the dynamics spin out of control and the discussions are not about the main article anymore. one problem with comments is that journalists or whoever contributed the article either dont take or dont have the time to repost or answer to these comments. thats one way traffic. is that why we are theoretically able to answer pretty much from anywhere in the western hemisphere? what is the contributor of the article afraid of? not being able to answer to all comments/posts? is that a problem?

another problem i see with comments is that people try to comment as sophisticated as possible which is fine but comments should be kept short and spicy, they are comments right? but how do you know that the commentator has a profound knowledge and not just an iceberg of it without any under-the-surface-knowledge? is that actually relevant for a "short contribution"?

many q's today. is that a problem?

being part of community=being prisoner?

In some countries (depends again on the job; pilot is not equal ground staff) you are more tied to a community because your responsibilities are high but then again your securities (insurance, pension) are high. It almost seems like you get compensated to be stuck in a place. its only a few jobs where you get paid well AND get to see the world. otherwise you get compensated to be stuck. you get paid well to go to a chinese restaurant instead of being able to go to china.

things that are like bad vacuum cleaners

1)bad ad/ political campaigns
2)badly organized corporations

they make hell of a noise but dont work effectively.

use it before you publish it

this might sound natural or given but use your softwear, reread your book (independently from your publisher/editor), ride your car before you get it out there. extensively.

of course you should get your product out there to benchmark or regain market shares but in some cases it seems like companies didnt even take the necessary time to test run their new or updated products.

go get ice cream when its raining

unusual? weird? possibly so but he didnt have to queue up. might be raining outside but that doesnt matter cause he is eating his favorite double chocolate cookie ice cream.

be different.

fill the pool to splash water

before you have an argument, acquire knowledge about the topic, before you write an exam, read your materials.

why? because you cant splash water without water.

high tech can become (s)low tech

implement new high tech correctly. otherwise ill be (s)low tech. its the first impression that counts, (unfortunately) not only with new high technology.

wrong target

if you are highly specialized in your field but you target the wrong audience or contact the wrong people, no wonder you will not get a job or that the people will not listen to you or comprehend what you are talking about.

find the right audience. contact the right company you'd like to work for.

the north korea effect

sometimes we forget. just because we are surrounded by university graduates doesnt mean everyone is. just because we are (unfortunately) surrounded by people who live off social welfare doesnt mean everyone does.

maybe this is about breaking chains. or expanding your circle of friends.

pretty people know pretty people

this is a synergy effect which probably can be explained by psychologists but in my case is based on observation of others.

how can this synergy effect be used to the advantage of creative minds? the synergy effect of good looking folks probably can be explained by first intuition. we would usually not mistrust not a person that we are alike. but today's global communication is (unfortunately awefully lot) online on a variety of plattform, social media and alike. so it might be even more important to present yourself in good light.

a couple of questions arise:
is this attitide too superficial? should we always give a profile a second look? do we have the time for that?

what other methods are there to connect? (online conferences with more than 20 participants?)

whats your thought on this?

once again, truly global

i am pretty sure everyone has heard about and/or seen the KONY 2012 video (if not, watch it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc). it caused a huge wave of shocking about the actions of LRA, amazement (about the powerful movement of the organization "invisible children") and other emotions but what amazed me even more was the wave of reactions to the 30min- clip. people from all over the globe immediately posted their views on the topic and on the video (how it simplifies the problem, how outdated it is). this is, once again, truly a sign that we live in an era of instant action/reaction. time is calculated in fb status updates, twitter feeds, youtube vdo uploads, blog entries. not seconds. the thought of hours has vanished without being noticed. see the links below if you would like a insight of some of those reactions.

in case of emergency

its those situations you know if people know their job well or are experienced in what they are doing. whether its a medical doctor, executive of an undertaking or your cleaner around the corner when you spilled some nasty sauce over your favorite shirt.

routine and work you grow into might be dangerous because you might lean back and expect business as usual. instead you should try grow
out of routine. use routine and business as usual situations as a foundation to stand out.

diversity is healthy

diversity with people is like diversity with food. it keeps you healthy.

diversity at the beginning, lets say immigrants and their integration might cause challenges at the beginning but society can only gain from it.

so mix the salad and enjoy it.

its not going to get better than this

says who?

one piece of paper can be a book

in order to understand a single article from a magazine with a specific target group (may it be gardening, art, history, cars etc) the knowledge of a whole book might be necessary.

the article might be short but it might contain highly relevant pieces of information for your profession.

just make sure you read that book before you read that article.

finding house no. 5 in Littleton

its harder or almost impossible (if you consider all the check points nowadays) to get lost on long distance travels in comparison to finding a little house in Littleton with no doorbell. finding the house in Littleton will need some planning and you might get lost either in details or in translation.

i know its sometimes hard but even though you are trying to find house no. 5 in Littleton never lose sight of the big journey. you need to arrive in Littleton country first to find Littleton afterall.

find a mentor

Someone you admire and look up to for whatever reason (knowledge, skills, wealth, magic powers).

It might be because of what s/he says or does or maybe because of how s/he does things.

In the course of your personal development this person might be replaced by another mentor. they might be seen as mile stones in your life as well.

You will benefit not only from their knowledge but from their life experiences.

This is a vague definition but these mentors are as colorful in personality as human beings are.

its the lil things

its been said a gazillion times but just to reiterate it:

it is the 5 min minutes you spend on a new language every day, evaluating your day to improve your daily life, reading the news, a little work out, meditation that makes the difference.

its 5 min. on a daily basis.
